You will have to excuse my ignorance I am a old Nissan boy...who pushed the B13 Sentra to the limits and realized no matter what i do short of buying  a Skyline a  EG done right is the king of the streets. So um whats a  D16 ....I know B16, H22, B18  now the K series is the lick. From my extreamily quick browse of the post it would appear to be a SOHC engine unless hooked on phonix did not work and i should get my money back.    Anywho If so judgeing by the layout of this post your the person to speak to on power plant issues ie what do i buy. or Fix.

I am currently building a 92 EG hatch Si with a single cam V-tech ( i hope thats not a D16 or i am gonna feel foolish.  Anyways I have full GS-R Suspension (JDM) along with a few Type R thangs to aid me in the corners. Brakes steel braided lines.   Now i put a post up asking for some help on what mods to do
to my single cam V-tech ????  a swap is not in the cards at this moment. So um....What would you with the present plat form ...I know the standard things but i want mods specific to the motor.

Cheers

this is interesting, cuase i'm looking for something in the neighborhood of 200 on a d16y8... if i can do it n/a that would be awesome.. but i think realistically i'll have to do something with some boost... i would be happy with 170hp if its daily driver reliable...

i'm gonna build a d... i wanna get a junk one from somewhere, since i'm on a tight budget i need the motor in the car until the new one is complete... it might take awhile.   i don't really know much about building or what parts are best(cheap/good quality) i know you get what you pay for, but i can't do the expensive stuff. if someone could help me out, some parts i don't even know what they are for. like head studs, dosen't the motor already have em'?? should i get a sleve kit for a n/a setup? what should i get to build a solid d16y8? and where should i look for a motor and how much will one cost me? i was thinking junk yards??

Holy crap, what are you a engineer for Honda? Thats amazing! I dont mean to be picky but I think that a summary section of hardware and mods and results (hp) would be excellent. Cause honnestly, Im an engineer (an young Aeronautical one mind you, not mechanical one) and I got lost in some places.

From what i have been told, the D17 engines do not have a very good platform to build off of. I started building my D17(I/H/E) and i wanted to keep going on modding it until i learned that it cant handle a lot of power maybe up to 200
