Dupli-Color Vinyl & Fabric paint

I recently made the jump on this stuff after wanting black interior in my civic. I was a little skeptic as to how well it would stick to the plastic pieces (door panels, center console, etc.)

Price= ~6 bucks a can. With one can I was able to do one door panel with three coats, and the plastic parts that hold the window switches, and the plastic pieces that surround the door handle. As i knew this would be a common place where people would be touching and I didnt want paint chips.

Using the product= I prepped my door panels with 5415(wax and grease remover) and that was all, as the directions did not call for scuffing or anything like that. The paint adhered extremely well to plastic pieces and after hitting them with my finger nail quite hard, no paint chips! It covers quite well, and does go on thicker than most paints. My only problem with this product, is Dupli-Color's stupid ass spray nozzle design. The tip was always getting splatter and doesnt feel comfortable in the finger. Using a rag every so often to wipe it clean cured this.

This also said it was a fabric paint. I dont believe this and still dont. But after taking off my old fabric on the armrests, i thought i'd give it a go on the fabric. and.... failed. epically!!!! i would never ever recommend this for painting fabrics. the fabric as you could well imagine, got crunchy and hard. wasnt soft, and didnt cover very well. left valleys and just didnt look good.

All in all, if you want to do something different with your interior and dont wanna spend a fortune trying to buy different colored door panels, i highly recommend this stuff. its very durable, and very easy to use. if you dont have 5415, a mild soap and water solution is all you need.
