1997 Civic stock radio - AUX mod?
Hey,
First time posting here.. I have a 97 Civic with the stock radio (AM/FM, no cassette deck, no CD slot, no AUX port). Currently, I use an FM transmitter hooked to my iPod to listen to music in my car. The quality is shiat. I was wondering if there is a way to modify the existing radio so that I could plug my iPod into a cable, hooked up to behind the radio somewhere. Ideally, the cable would run from the back end of the radio into my glove compartment, so I can store my iPod there. Any ideas? A friend claims this is possible with some wiring, & buying a certain cable, but no idea what. . . -Erad |

For $130, I can buy a new radio that has AUX & then some, but anyway - thanks for looking it up!

This should work: http://www.logjamelectronics.com/piehonauvv1.html
The only downside is how will you charge the iPod? Also, do you have one of the factory radios that is able to connect to a cassette deck/cd changer? I've only seen the factory setups in the 1996-2000 Civic EX and I don't know if the other models are different. |
