2006 civic remote start problems?
Has anybody out there installed a remote start on the 2006 civic? if so, have you had any problems with it occasionally not starting? well, mine starts... but every now and then it just dies right after... or sometimes it'll die right as i put it in gear. maybe 1 out of every 15 times... i thought it might be a faulty bypass module, (directed 556U) so i put in another module. IT STILL DOES IT. It's not a big problem but it IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!
Mine does it also, I have had it back three times and they think i'm crazy and keep telling me there is nothing wrong with it. some days it will work others you hit the button and it starts and then shuts off and the car locks up.
I already did that and they said there is no problems that they know of it is either a new issue or it wasn't installed correct, to contact whom ever installed it. The Dealership still says there is nothing wrong with it so I called the honda 800 number to see what they said and recomended i do and they told me the dealership has to handle the issue. I questoned why b/c it was installed by the dealership and the dealership told me if they installed it, it was covered under my honda warrenty and the woman at the 800# put me on hold and said she checked with her boss and the dealership is not correct it's an aftermarket product and is not recomended or endorced by honda. If is not featured on the honda web site it is not recommended or covered under the warrenty, It a dealership issue, I have to get it resolved with them all she could do it put in a complaint if they refuse to do anythign or a complaint about them saying it's covered under the warrenty.
You need to call the dealership about the problem and tell them Honda does not condone the remote start and they have a problem on their hands that needs to be fixed yesterday. Make them completly uninstall it and then reinstall.
hell yeah i figured it out! ok... i think this is how it goes.
Find the keysense wire... i dont remember what color it is. And use a relay to interrupt the signal when you activate the remote start. so basically, hook it up to the second starter out put so that when the remote start is activated, the signal from the bypass unit which installed is the only signal going to the vehicles security system. both signals = bad. get it? kinda hard to explain i think. anyway, hope it helps a little.

On this car you DO NOT need to "break" the key sence wire to do R/S. The issue you are having is from the 556U. Which key are you using in the "box"?
What type of R/S are you using? and what wire from it are you triggering the 556U with? Ground while running, or, status output if it's DEI.
