It will be loud enough, but you WILL need an amp to push the sub. The front and rear speakers will play OK with the headunit, but not to their full potential and could possibly blow over time due to being underpowered.

the watt rating on speakers doesn't mean it will put out that much power... it means it can HANDLE that much power. if you want loud, an amplifier is a MUST. Also, what do you mean by "loud enough". this is subjective. I would say if you aren't going to be in any competitions, you don't really need a super high powered amp.

I think the Audiobahn 6004T (i think that's the model) is good because it puts out decent power and produces a pretty clear signal. Plus it is a decent price. I've seen it on eBay for like $150 - $200.

you'd be wasting your time and money if you didn't get an amp.

idk if he was saying if it was 300 rms or max but if its max,i might wanna step it up some more, and yeah..noone can tell you whats "loud enough" cuz its all personal opinion. Also you need companies that live up to their word ..thats a big big thing because most dont.example..a 1000w rms pyramid..ur lucky to get 200w. good companies give out true power. companies like PG and Directed Audip actually under rate thier amps.they are much more powerful then they say so they give out the real loudless people are looking for.. An amp. is almost a must with a sub. and...Audiobahn 6004T might be a somewhat decent sub but you can grab two PG octane-r's that price of $160.

Ok, get the amp. Id like to say that underpowering will not blow them over time... yet destroy the voice coils. Also speakers perform much better when they have a lot of power behind them. The most common case is under powered speakers. Ive met tons of people who had a sub and said they have an amp at 300 watts and they say that the sub sux , when it can handle 1000 watts. Well that becasue it is under powered. I did a family friends 2000 4Runner last year, I put mb quart premium speakers all the way, a 5 channel MTX amp, a 10 jbl gto subwoofer and a nakamichi deck, it sounded so good I started to skeem on how to steal the car! But also, never judge jack $hit on "max power" that statement if for the birds and morons a like. Normally you want to look at the RMS power and its db rating. That is the efficiecy of the sub/ speakers. THe higher the better. For example, if I have a 83db subwoofer, and a 94db subwoofer I would need less power to run the 94db subwoofer.

Good God man, if you get that kind of wattage out of those speakers make sure you play something we all like because we'll hear you no matter what part of the world you're on. An amp is a definite must. I don't think I've heard of speakers pushing that much excpet at Alice Cooper concerts. Keep us updated on how it all turns out.

mad7's is pretty much right. Alot of people think they are pushing a 1000 watts when they arent. Also a good high end 200 watt amp (say... Butler audio. a vacume tubed car audio amp) will blow a cheap 1000 watt amp out of the water on a bad day!
