Default Amp installed, no sound

Just hooked up my amp and sub. First there was no power, but fixed it with a better ground. Now, the amp turns on, but no sound to the sub. Or the sub is not working. I am suspecting that either the deck has the sub turned off, or, there is a RCA cable problem. the thing that is happening that is strange is when I turn the deck off, the sub pops. like it turns on and off really quick. Anyone have any suggetions?

you didnt splice/extend the RCAs did you? Pretty sure RCAs dont use normal speaker wire and you cant splice into them. Then just check to make sure the + is to + and the - is to - from the amp to the sub. Also, are you sure the amp is working correctly? I was wiring my friends amp the other day and we figured out that the amp itself was wrong, he was having a similar problem to yours too.

Thanks for your help, I hate to admit it, but somehow I put the rca's in the decks input and not the output. that is a first for me. lol.
