Default amp wiring

it might have been answered in a post just today but i just wanted to double check...my buddy already has one amp powering his speakers...wants to add another amp for his subs...can a power, lead (remote) and ground wire be shared by both amps? i'm just thinking of connecting a power wire from amp to amp, lead from amp to amp, and i guess separate ground wires...is this possible? i'm not seeing why it wouldn't be...that only thing that might be a concern is that both amps are not the same...one's an alpine and the other a clarion i believe...let me know if it'd work. thanks!

Make sure the power wire coming from the battery to where it splits to both amps (with a distribution block, natch) is big enough to handle the power draw of both amps combined...
I've heard 4 gauge or 0 gauge wire is what would be recommended, but take it from people who know far more than I do... lol

if its 4 gauge or bigger, it should be good. just use a fused distribution block. and then run seperate grounds, but ground them at the same point on the car. as far as the remote wire, it can just be jumped from one amp to the other. you should be good.

also if they are both super powerful amps, it may be better to just run a new power wire.
