Automatic Locking
I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX Coupe. This may be a stupid question, or maybe not, but, does my car automatically lock itself if I'm parked? My dealer told me it doesn't, but, for example, when I wash my car and don't lock it, my doors are locked after maybe 2 minutes. Has locking my car become such a habit that I don't remember doing so, or does my car lock itself? I have key less entry, btw. I guess I just need confirmation that I am not going nuts.

pretty sure it doesn't

is it aftermarket keyless entry?
I have my Viper keyless entry programmed to lock after 30 seconds of inactivity, so I don't ever wonder if I forgot to lock my car. |
No, it's the stock system that came with the car.

Ah, you must be going crazy then

I swear on a stack of Honda Tuning magazines, my car locks itself. I'm just trying to figure out how. I am 100% sure it is the stock keyless entry system. I wonder if it was programmed to do so.

i might be a dealer add on unit from Code that has passive arming/locking. wouldn't know really without sticking your head under the dash in the kick panel and see if anything pops out as aftermarket

If you click the unlock button and don't open the doors for about 15 seconds the doors with lock themselves. Mine does the same thing. It's pretty kool:cool:

just was gonna say, I was wondering the same thing! Good to know.
