Default Battery?

Today i finally got the time to install my 2 Pioneer 10" subs and Pioneer amp while i was listening to it running on my battery. My battery slowly died after 5ish minutes what type of battery should i get to replace this around or under $90ish?

how big of an amp are you running, if its over 1000watts (which it shouldn't be with that small of subs, e****ally pioneer) then you should buy a capacitor, probably a 1.0 farad. I just had to replace the battery in my civic due to the constant draining and re-charging and I went to auto zone and bought the duralast gold battery, i think i bought it for around $90, but then i got $12 back after i brought in the core. So far its been really good. had it about a week now. I'm running about 3000watts and i have a 2.0 farad cap, andhigh output alternater so thats about 1000 watts the battery has to support on its own... i'd say its a good battery for the price

lol whats wrong with caps? and i didn't say he needed one... only if hes running a lot of power for a long time... if you're like me you like your music loud all the time. with the little battery civics have its almost impossible to just have a battery. but... for his application you're right,i wouldn't worry about it.

dont worry about max... thats just a marketing number, what is the thermal power rating... or RMS rating?

I have always heard great things about the optima batteries. I think the yellow tops are the ones that are recomended as replacment batteries.

250 is not that much wattage to severely drain your battery... I just think that you should get a new battery, but just get a bigger since your doing it, IMO

P.S. if you are willing, you could always think about getting a bigger alternator if your that worried...

You could run 4 amps with that same wattage on 1 good battery. Invest a little more and buy a more high current battery, with more cranking amps. Or just let your car idle while you jam. You can find upgrades, even with Honda's small type, just look around. I am rocking a recycled 550cranking amp battery I got from a friend. Mine went funky and he saved me some money and just let me use it. I run mine all day long, have never experienced a problem.

Hit autozone if nothing else, and just swap it out for something newer. Their batteries are pretty reasonable, and they will put them in for you.

You might also make sure nothing's grounding out on your wiring, and make sure everything's right. I remember having an amp, Orion if I can remember correctly, the 2150, used to be all the rage. Anyway it would always drain my battery in my old car, never really knew why. Could have been internal, but if you have a tester you might poke around and make sure it's not staying on constantly, or otherwise consuming power when it shouldn't be. It's a long shot, but it happens.
