Blank Switch Won't Stay Put

New member here.

I've got a 2003 Civic with the stock AM/FM CD player and I just installed this gizmo to allow me to play my iPod through the stereo. I drilled a hole through one of the center console switch blanks for the mini jack.

Everything looks and works great, BUT the switch blank doesn't stay in place. I snapped it back into place after installation, but it won't stay firmly in place. The whole blank just pops out when I unplug a cable.

Is there some trick to this short of using epoxy or something to keep it in place?

I searched through the forum but didn't see this issue addressed anywhere.

Thanks!

Dave

not really no once you start removing panels that weren't really meant to be removed they start to become worn.also those blanks weren't meant to be used in this fashion they were meant to be easily removed. you could try bending the clips in the opposite direction then reinstall it or buy new inserts .

Thanks.

I tried bending the clips, but that didn't do much.

So you think replacement inserts would snap in more firmly? Where would I find those?

If you don't want it to come out, a small drop of superglue will do the trick and is really cheap.

Thanks. That's probably what I'll have to resort to.
