Default bridging

I have a four channel amp powering 6.5 components and 6x9s in the rear and I wanted to bridge the amp for the components. Is it as easy as rearranging the positive and negative wires on the amp, or is there something else to worry about. Also, is it possible to hook up the 6x9's to the head unit or something so they are still receiving some power (not a big priority but I was just wondering)?

no its not hard to bridge a 4 channel amp. but I dont know why you want to do that. There shoult be a little stamped description near the terminals depicting how to bridge. Yes, the 6x9 will hook up to the head unit no problem.

I wanted to bridge it because the front speakers were underpowered and the rear speakers are POS so I figured I should try bridging the amp and just running the components and forget the rear deck alltogether.

So I did that and with 100w up front it sounds much better, in the back seat it's just the subs kicking you in the chest, but as long as it sounds good in my seat it's fine.
