Default Building a System for my 2005 Hybrid

Hey All, UPDATED COMPONENTS LIST

I just bought a new Civic Hybrid and I want to put a very decent system in. I want to keep it around $1500.

I am buying the components. Just got the HU yesterday and will be purchasing the rest in the days to come.

All Alpine components:

- CDA-9851 CD/MP3/WMA Receiver $279 + tx
- MRV-F345 4/3/2 V12 Amplifier running everything
- SPS-171A Component Speakers
- SPS-170A Coaxial Speakers
- SWS-1042D Type-S 10" Subwoofer

I would like to hear your opinions and recomendations. I listen to just about everything some hip hop like the Black Eyed Peas, Del, and Eminem. Some rock, Wilco, AcDc, Kid Rock. I am not interested in having the loudest system on the street nor do I want to have the Base that deafens the ppl in the car next to me. I want a high quality sound that is loud when I need it but impressive inside most importantly.

2 questions-

Where is a good place to mount the tweeters.
Would you say that and amp for the front speakers is best.

Are there any good sites for me to go read reviews or see pics of audio systems in the Civic?

Thanks in advance for your comments and advice.

Don

First, good choice on the company...Alpine makes great quality car audio products, so you cant really go wrong. Only thing is, I think you'd like the Type R 10" over the Type S. Type R sounds clean and and can keep up with rock songs. As for the sub amp, I have the one you are looking at getting...I like it a lot. I have a Type R 12" in a ported box with that amp and it sounds great.

Id mount the tweeters here. A friend of mine had the type R 12 and it sounded nice. Alpine makes some good stuff bro, ur def on the right track. My suggestion would be to see if u can get some of last year models stuff.....its just as good but it will definetly help u keep ur budget at 1500. Definetly post me some pics of ur progress man......should sound really good. As for amplifing the front speakers......its not a bad idea......maybe get a 4 channel amp.....this way u can use it to power all the speakers. SHould sound sweeet.!!

you should change the 10" to two 12"s 1000 watts
and put the tweeters on the doors. like us we have a civic coupe and we have our tweeters built into the doors and in the back. so u can basically but them anywhere.

dpnaugle,
Have you had any problems with your hybrid since adding the system? dimming? lower mpgs?
Thanks,

of course anyone who wants to keep trunk space (especially in a car with all ready limited trunk space) wouldn't put in a pair of 12" subs
