Default can't find anywhere....

I was wondering if someone knew, or at least knew where to find, the specs for the stock speakers in a 2000 honda civic. I need to know how much better new speakers would be, and if they are worth the expense.

they are worth it, if their anything like my 02's speakers they are definately worth it! I think mine came with 1" magnets... pathetic. I'll see if I can get some pics up of the stock speakers tomorrow.

6.5" in the front and 6x9 in the rear. Speakers range from $30 a pair to $650 and up and what you pay for is what you get. In most cases they'll be better than stock though.

Thanks for the help. I don't really need to know, because I have already picked out some speakers, but I'm just curious....How many watts would it take to blow the stock speakers? I want to have a going away party for them right before I install the new ones. I have a 60 watt x4 head unit, so I think I could.

about 15 watts. But believe it or not, most headunits only will rock about 20 watts. Youd be amazed how loud a real 'watt' is. Alot of people think they got a 1000 watt amp that will pupm only 100 watts out. Unless of course they payed $1000 for their thousand watt amp.
