Default Changer only plays on left side speakers

I have a stock stereo system with a Honda 6 disc cd changer. My radio and honda cassette player play fine on all speakers but when I switch to cd, it only plays on the left side speakers. The right side is almost not existent and has a crackling sound. Any ideas on what this could be. I dont want to waste too much time troubleshooting.

It could be a number of things. Replace all of your sotck speakers... that should fix the problem.

Would it not be caused by faulty wiring to the cd changer and head unit or cd changer itself? Speakers cant decide for themselves where the source is.

very unlikely... it sounds like a circuitry problem. It could be three things... most likely (after thinking about it) the cd changer or the radio... and then the speakers. I would get the cd changer checked first.

Yea, but if its a crackily sound on the right speaker, that would be easily caused by a damaged cable, especially if it moves, and that cable would be between the head unit and the cd changer unit.

hmm, sounds like there are 2 things wqron eth the speakers (im not there so I am trying my best with your descritpion) first off, if the car is older than 7 years, the speakers might be dry rotted. Or they might be blown.

Thanks for the input. The speakers are aftermarket and they cant be the problem because when I play the radio or a cassette, the speakers work fine. Its just when I switch over to cd that the right side speakers go inoperative. Also, sometimes the speakers will work with the cd player but very rarely. Im guessing its wiring but I was wondering if this might have been a common problem so I wouldnt have to rip everything apart to troubleshoot.

One remedy might be to unplug and plug back in firmly, it could be losse conections. You just never know.

Well, if the radio/tape player can use the right speakers fine, then its clearly NOT the speakers or speaker cables that are at fault, which leaves cd changer, head unit or cable between the cd change and head unit unless the cd changer is connected to the speakers bypassing the headunit(would be strange design).

Check the cabling between the cd changer and headunit, i dont know what the connection is like, but u may wanna test the cable with a multimeter or something similar to verify every line is working.
