Eclipse 5504 Cd Deck messing up.
I have an Eclipse 5504 Cd Deck that is about 3 or 4 years old. It was bought and installed by the previous owner of my civic. When I play original cd's it works fine, but when I play copied/burned cd's it scratches and skips while playing. Why does it do this? I heard that the Eclipse Fujitsu Ten company used to have a tendency to have skipping problems with cd's, but don't quote me on that.....
I also have a Sony Xplod CDX-F5700 CD Dech that I am thinking about replacing the Eclipse with. It is brand new and in perfect shape. Do you think I should just keep the Eclipse radio and just deal with the fact that I can't play burned cd's or should I suck it up and just install the Sony Xplod? Or should I just try to get the Eclipse fixed? How much do you think it would cost to get it fixed?
