Good place to buy audio equipment in Canada?
This question is for the Canucks on the board - where do you buy your audio equipment? Crutchfield Canada seems a bit expensive; and there has to be a cheaper option than the big box stores (Futureshop, BestBuy et al). So who does everybody use for their audio purchases? Local shops? Good online store?
I don't have a problem buying audio equipment online from a US store if the prices are good; but you get completely nailed on customs fees. |

I bought all my stereo equipment on EBay. Duty isn't that bad. I think I paid $8.95 in duty for my deck. Still way cheaper than if I had purchased it in a store. If you're here in Vancouver, a&b sound seems to have pretty good prices, and sometimes Visions. Ric's Radio is supposed to be a good local shop too I think.

Thus, saving money :D I've just heard some horror stories about people ordering things from the 'States and then getting raped (without any form of lubrication) on duties and taxes at the border. |
