Default GPS.

If I have a Lcd already, are there any GPS devices that don't have a screen but just brains that you can output to your existing screen? Does GPS cost money from a service, or is it free after you buy it? What's the average cost of an ok GPS device..?

There is no annual price for GPS. Yes some units can be added to an exsisting screen and some cant so make sure the one you look at has an RCA video out.

Yea, an in dash GPS isnt cheap. But if you have been wanting a nice radio ... most are really nice with the GPS feature. But like I said, if you always wanted a nice radio too, there is your excuse. A hand held GPS will be alot cheaper.

i have a gps thing from LL bean, it was 190ish dollars. it has all the main roads in it. so it makes it easyer to find places, it also has all the towns labeled, and tells you your average speed, speed right now, top speed and distance. i found out that my cars odometer is about 3 miles off for every 100 miles, in my favor. it will also tell you your heading and elevation. it will save your trips, by leaving a "bread crub trail" so you can get back. the only sucky part is that it has to be near the windows, but it pinches infront of the fuel guage well.

That sounds sweet...more of what I was thinking. I don't really have the 2g's for a full on one, and I just bought a new clarion deck that I'm in love with. My lcd has also been workin out pretty good so I don't really need a new one, just a nice handheld deal that I can pipe into the screen would work fine.

It has a video output that you just plug into your lcd? Where did you buy it? Do you have any pics of it?

Thanks for the info man...
