Headlight accents

I was thinking about putting green accent lights in my headlight housings. Would it work to drill a whole in the back, wire and LED to the whole and then seal it with silicone sealant??

you've got it perfeclty.Ipersonally think it looks sick but its probably illegal on public streets. You can also buy somehting called "city lights" headlights that have LEDs in them that switch colors and pulse and whatnot, those are sick but i dont have much more info on them.

yeah, sounds like a good plan. I have thought about doing that myself.

I think 1 or even 2 led's would look sick in the back of your light housings. I have seen some pics with them, and they look pretty good.

Yeah you've got the right idea. Just make sure you seal them up nicely or you'll run into problems with the leak. Itll look nice. get some pics when ur done with em.

RE: Headlight accents

ya they are kinda cool.... hardest part is placement!
ya need to aim them on a certain part that will shine all over the headlight housing but still not shine the leds where its easily seen and to bright in that one spot... id say best spot is towards the top aiming down and to the side...

BUT also when doing it you want to remove the headlights from the car... cause when you drill the holes into the headlights all the drill shavings from the housing is left inside the headlights... so ya need to take them out and shake the trash outta the headlights after taking out the headlight bulb.. the junk should fall right out with alittle shaking....

i got some for my civic but i havent put them in yet..... but either way you want to wire them into a switch! so you can turn them off!
when i instal mine im gonna wire them up thru my underbody setup....

Yeah I was planning on wiring them to a switch. The LEDs are 5mm ones so they are extremely bright. Thanks guys.

RE: Headlight accents

personaly id suggest some 3MM leds.... just as bright and they are smaller to smaller holes and harder to see during the day...

but either way you should also use a piece of plastic or something and try drilling a few holes first and trying the leds.... that way you get to use the smallest hole so it holds in thier good and doesnt need alot of sealer....
cause if ya drill the holes to large in the headlights... well ya cannt make the holes smaller.LOL

Drill upside down :-)

I like the 3's myself, I am still waiting for a warm off day to put mine in.
