Help!!! Push button Start W/out Key install
 

95 civic dx auto. I've done some research on this, so I have a little understanding on how it works, but not enough to tackle it myself. I want to have a push button start and have a hidden switch to turn on the ACC. I absolutely do not want to use a key. I need to know what wires to splice into and what button and switch would be best to use (the rating amps and so forth). Diagrams (that are easy to read) would be a big help. My ignition is already off or at least the tumbler part. I start it with the white plastic part thats behind the tumbler. Yes, it was stolen! Can I use these wires connected to this? Thanks for the help

OK if you really want to do this (I won't judge why) you need one or two BIG toggle switches and a push button. The switches need to be rated for at least 40 amps.

There is a live wire to the key switch and three outputs. Accessory, Ignition, and Start. You can connect Accessory and Ignition together or use two toggle switches. The switches all connect the live wire to the corresponding output wire. Look in the service manual for the wire colors, or unplug your ignition switch (the white part) and explore its function with an ohmmeter while turning the rotor to the different positions.

Use HEAVY wire and switches as there are LOTS of amps involved. I can't stress that enough obviously.

Also of course disconnect the battery before any electrical work. There is enough power to start a fire, or blow one of the large (expensive) fuses under the hood.

I figure if they can steal it when it took a key to start it, maybe next time it'll take them longer to steal it trying to figure out how to start it. Maybe it'll give me just enough time to ask them if they need any help, if you know what I mean... LOL I've put some other theif deterrents on it since then. Thanks for the help.

wont really matter if its push button or key start, if they want it, their gonna get it.

white - 12V constant
yellow - ignition, off when starter is initiated
yellow w/black- ignition, on when starter is initiated
black w/white- starter
white w/black- acc, on with ignition, off when starter is initiated.

Your going to have to break your steering lock, or simply remove it. Its NOT that hard to do. Your going to have to run some toggle switches, and a button to press for the start. Your going to need high current relays so you don't catch the car on fire.

You could do it an easier way. Go ahead and keep the key entry. Just make it so when the key goes all the way forward < start position > nothing happens. Anyone who would be trying to steal your car would be confused by this, and figure the car was broke down.
Have a button or toggle ran somewhere that cannot easily be seen. Have it ran to the yellow with black < someone correct me if wrong>. This way, you can put the key in, press the button/toggle and go down the road. Easy setup.

yup, and not only that, when they jack ur ****, they part it out on ebay and craigslist piece by piece. then replace it with other parts. thats the only bad thing about hondas is that there is to many interchangable parts. ur tuner that got jacked last week could be that ricer going down the street last night lol.
