LOL i knew you would say something like that after me putting that pic up....the main ground you see is 4g and the main power wire is 4g and the other power wire from my sub amp is 4g too...i think the other power wire from my 4ch is only 8g though. The 4ch is 100x4 at 14v i think and the sub amp is 1200 at 12v though.Almost every person i talked to said the 4g would be fine and everything including the main power wire but who knows......so i think that could turn into a problem maybe....lol...ask me anything else addict if i forgot something that would help me out here.

well for 1200watts and a small 4channel amp 4gauge SHOULD be large enough... but if your wires have melted like that.... something aint right... what kinda sub amp are you runnen? maybe its not very effecent and pulling alot of power.... or MAYBE your can is internaly shorting out which is always pullen more juice...
but with the wires coroded like that id say the cap is definatly bad... BUT if you plan on puting another one thier or just bolting the wires together you REALY need to cut off all that coroded wire back so its clean and then recrimp wire terminals on them again.... cause corosion will kill your power transfere!

what size main fuse ya runnen under the hood?
BUT anyways... if that wire insulation melts like that again then start saving up for some 0gauge wire!
cause that 4gauge just isnt heavy enough for that much voltage going thru them...

im runnin a 120wafer fuse under the hood i believe....i think i might be pulling too many amps but my voltage when its hitting hard is about 12.8 so im pretty safe for right now.My sub amp has 4 30 fuses so its quite a bit...lol....im not sure why its doing that but its getting worse like today. But right now i dont really have any money to do anything about it right now so ill just have to keep an eye on it.I think maybe the post on the cap got too dirty from the windows being down all the time so maybe that had something to do with it i dont know but im gonna have to figure out something...im still thinking about using a distro block with like a 120 on one side and 80 for the 4ch.

Do 0 gauge big 3.

It would handle better without it, the corrosion makes it a lot worse, huge resistances are at that cap and throw off everything.

ya... MOST LIKELY that cap is cracked and leaking..... id check the carpet or metal under the carpet and make sure it hasnt leaked thru it to bad and eaten thru the paint and started rusting out the car.... acid is not good at all for your car!
just pull the turd off and cut those coroded wires shorter!!!!!!!!

umm yeah i just went and looked at again and its getting even worse...it didnt even look like it was leaking but now you can actually start to see where it is.Addict so what can i do for a temp fix cause i cant even listen to my tunes now for over about 5 minutes before it cuts out?????

its not like oozing out now but i can see like a little ring of acid around the post...either way the cap HAS to go and i have to figure out something quick.

for a quick fix........ new ring terminals to cut off that coroded crap! and after all wires are clean and RIGHT... then just buy a bolt and simply bolt the wires together and with electrical tape tape the crap outta it so it wont short out on anything......

OR if your gonna ditch the cap.. .like i would..... just buy a distrobution block or a spliter...... or even a fuseblock will also work
just be sure they got 4gauge inputs and outputs if your runnen 4gauge!

just depends on if you wanna replace it OR DITCH IT.... or maybe even upgrade and just put a battery in the back.... fullsize battery SEALED cell and if you wanna be realy safe run a vent hose outside the trunk...
