Installation
 

So i drop my car off at the local car audio shop this morning to get a kenwood head unit and 2 kenwood 200 Watt component speakers installed. Guy says it will take abt 2 hrs. So i call back 3 hrs later and he says another hour. Its gettin abt the time i gotta go to work so i call again and he asks me if i've ever tried to take off the door panel. i say no and ask y and he tells me that they broke the power door lock clip. So i go down there and he says he'll drive my car to the honda dealership and get the part and fix it. Honda had to order the part and it wont b there till monday. so now i got my new stereo system installed and no way to lock my car 4 the next few days. Other than that it sounds great. lol.

lol exactly why i install my own stereo stuff.........whered ya go ? Circuit city? Best buy?lol BAD idEa.

Sorry to hear about the broken clip. I used to install car audio, and I know sometimes accidents happen. pcupo12 could have been installing it and a clip still might have broken (can you say defective clip?)

The best way to handle this situation is to go to the installation company and act like you're so pissed (but keep your cool and don't name-call). Tell them how much you need your car and insist that they compensate you somehow (freebie something, lower price of install, etc).

That is a pain. Sucks about the clip. Installing your own stereo is a good idea, help ya learn more, but if ya break something theres no one to blame and buy you a new one so... its a trade off. Glad to hear it sounds great.

yeah i took off passenger side door panels and everythin and tried to install it last week, but the tweeter mount needed slight modification and the speaker didnt fit right so i couldnt do it. Yeah turns out they gave me half off the install.

At least they owned up to it and took care of it for you.
