Hey guys well im new to this but i have installed many car systems but im having a little problem. i have a 1991 honda civic hatchback and i just bought a Jensen Vm9312 indash dvd player. my problem is how do u connect it to a manual car? it says to connect this cable to the parking brake but my car doesnt have one. lik i know for the automatics u cud connect the cable to a fuse n you would be ok but i have no idea for manual cars. can you please help me out? thank you very much hondacivicforums

just don't connect it...its just so that the dvd's won't play unless the parking brake is on..and if it won't work at all without connecting it then run it together with the power wire that might work

and u do have a parking brake....emeregency brake same thing

Lol @ no parking brake. If anything a manual car would have it over an auto, but all cars have them. Search on how to bypass so you can watch while you drive, every HU is different.

need to be connected to ground. i installed one in my buddys car and it needs to be connected threw a switch to ground and needs to be flicked a certain amount of times and need to wait 5-10 seconds between each flick, that needs to be done everytime you start the car. but there is a secret menu that lets you bypass it forever (no need to use the switch after that) but i don't remember the way to get to the secret menu, you could look it up

most jensons/phase linears have a bogus alternating parking brake sequence that takes a lifetime to master even if u rig it with a swtich

thank goodness my alpine they make bypass units for them

ya might search for a video bypass for your radio... the one i got was programable... so should be able to program to any sequence but mine came preprogramed perfect for my alpine so it was just conecting wires love it!
