Just to clarify...
...so I managed to pick this up off ebay brand new for $35, http://www.crutchfield.com/S-sK7jV2m...&search=GMX362
I just wanted to have somethin to power my front speakers which are JBL gto602s. My current head unit puts out 17 watts a channel which was quite a step up from the stock radio but i needed a new one because I needed additonal RCA outputs, so I bought a replacement Pioneer HU that puts out 22 watts a channel, and that amp would put out 40 at 4ohms. My questions are, my speakers say they are 4ohms but can I wire them 2ohms to get an extra 10 watts to make it 50 watts a channel? How much an improvement in loudness and SQ will that amp have over the HU amp? And when I'm wiring the speaker wire from the amp to the wire harness, I just cut the wires that are the 2 front speakers that lead to the HU and replace that with the amp speaker wire, correct???
Thanks guys, I appreciate all the help!

Personally I wouldn't cut any of the existing wires (leave the stock stuff alone so you can put it back if you need to). I would run new wire from the amp all the way to the speaker and just disconnect the stock wires from it. And I wouldn't bother trying to get those to 2ohm...it'd be too much of a pain for hardly and gain.
Your head unit is most likely 50 watts per channel max. Keep the stock wiring there but unhook it. Then just mount the amp underneath your seat or someone wear close to the front. Hook it all up and then your front speakers will have such better clarity you might crap your pants.
^^Thereis no need to cut the wires from the stock harness thats foolish.
If you pop off the kick panel thats just underneath the dash you should be able to see where the factory wirind gets into the door. I usuallyopen up a metal coat hanger anduse it to pull the speaker wire through the boot that goes into the door. Just guide it through into the door from the hole behind the kickpanel then tape the speaker wire to the other end and pull through. It's always worked for me.
