the bypass kit sometimes comes with a toggle switch so you can pretty much just kill th epower to the bypass unit which turns it off.

Well if grounding the parking brake wire is how you bypass the "only-while-parked video" like I think it is, then all you have to do is ground that wire but put a toggle switch in the circuit, in between the ground and the head unit. Flip the toggle switch to break the current and the head unit should stop playing the video.

and it's not a full screen, but the other day I found this totally badass head unit... JVC single DIN DVD player with touchscreen. When you turn it off, it blacks out and the whole thing looks like sleek black with no buttons.

wow thats a tiny screen.LMFAO
and its a jvc and 500bucks... dam spend afew hundred more and get a real 6.5-7inch screen flip out.LOL

and with the switch yes cheaper model brands only use a parking brake wire so yes you can just ground that type and watch video when ever... my alpines use 2 wires, the parking brake and the brake pedal. where your suposed to do a pattern to be able to watch dvd. but i dont mess with that crap nor have i ever messed with it since i bought the dei bypass for both of mine brand new.

Yea, you gotta admit though, it's pretty badass. Did you see the alternate pictures? The touchscreen controls are CLEAN. It's like HD. lol

What's wrong with JVC? ...suppose to be a pretty good company for audio.

(serious question... there's a JVC head unit that i'm considering purchasing. It looks pretty solid and nice to me)

ive had bad luck with jvc in the past with stupid problems...
nothing super serious but ive only had 2 myself. i myself love alpines! only thing i dont like about the alpine unit is that alpine themselves does not have a webbased image background file so you can simply upload your own picture and it reformats it for the unit.... and ive only found one site that offers this but he is only one person that may reformat your pictures you upload ones a week or every other week.

if you get a alpine unit.
