memory for a car deck
okay so when i turn my car on it resets the car deck, so i would have to reset settings and such. Anyone know the color wire that is the memory one. When i bought my car it did not have the simple plug in wire thingy. all wires were cut so when i bought my deck i had to guess and everything works even the sub and amp. I did however leave 2 or 3 wires out since they dont have any stickies on them like the other ones did ( speakers, 12v, etc..) so if anyone can tell me the color of wire for the memory thatll be so much help.
sorry forgot to mention its a 1999 honda civic

And what are the other 2 wire colors you left unhooked?

okay well i went to my car and checked all the wires basically this is my hook ups. theres only 3 wires that i know i am missing in the car wires and did not hook up and those are the white with grey stripe and the red wire both of them i am clueless to what they are. also in my car there is a yellow with red wire that i connected to both the red and yellow wires of the deck. i have tried seperating these but i have gotten no current to the deck? so i dont know how i am supposed to keep the memory. i have taken pictures as well if that would help
The fuse under the hood ("BACKUP") that feeds the blue/white wire in the car is probably blown. This is the constant power source that should feed the yellow wire. The red wire from the deck goes to the switched power where you have both wires on now.
Disconnect the battery when working on the radio wiring to avoid blowing fuses.
It'd simplify things greatly in the future to cut a Honda radio plug out of a junk car and splice it to the wires in your car so your car is back like stock. Then use a harness adapter to connect the deck to that plug. Your next replacement is just plug and play then.
