my brother is getting a new truck and is wanting to put a pair of subs in it he is wondering
what's louder a par of 10" memphis pr104d or a pair of 10"jbl gto1002d :( |
RE: memphis vs. jbl
Memphis makes Quality stuff man.
|
RE: memphis vs. jbl
the memphis is 200rms and the jbl is 250rms what's louder?
|
RE: memphis vs. jbl
Man, the 200 watt and 250 watt rmps rating is just simply refering to how many watts of power they can handle from an amp, not how loud they are.
If you're looking for just which is the loudest, look at the sensitivity. The higher the dB number, they louder they will be. I'd imagine JBL has a high sensitivity, I know my Infinity is way up and they're made by the same company. |
RE: memphis vs. jbl
the memphis sensitivity is 97db and the jbl sensitivity is 93db
|
RE: memphis vs. jbl
Then the Memphis is louder
|
RE: memphis vs. jbl
how mane db louder then the jbl estimate of course:D
|
RE: memphis vs. jbl
........ are you serious?
Alright, 97 minus 93, 97-93=4, carry the 0, add 0.... It's got 4 more dB than the JBL |
RE: memphis vs. jbl
I here people talking about turning ther box to like 34hz. how do u do that[sm=happy046.gif][sm=icon_rock.gif]

RE: memphis vs. jbl
This is how you do it... go and buy one that's tuned already.
It's a process involving the size of the port, shape of the box, placement of the port, length of the port... not something that the average person can do. In a truck, if you're running two subs, you want sealed boxe(s). They're smaller and they won't make your eyeballs pop out of your head like a ported, vented or bandpass box would. Sealed boxes also help your quality go up in most cases. |
