Ive just got my civic and im about to fit my sound system in it. Where does every1 mount their amps? Ive been told the back of the seat is the best place but i cant put it there as i need the space when the seats are folded down. any suggestions???

Also what do you use for the grounding point?

i also mount my amp on the back of the seat but if you cant put it there, you can always mount it to the back of your box for the subs. Are you getting subs?

Edit: I ground my amp to a bolt that is under the rear seats. All you need it to attach the ground to an un painted (bare) metal surface of the car.

I don't think it will be a problem. I know a lot of poeple who mount them to the box because it is easier to take out when they have to put stuff in the back. I never heard them complain about their amps...

Also, if you think this is not a good idea, you can mount it on the SIDE of the boot. But this means you will have to make some kind of mounting apparatus. Usually, some wood board will do but it won't look pretty... if you want it to look good ... that's more work. Probably easiest to take it to a custom shop. I don't know about you, but I'm not very good with Carbon Fibre.

if vibration hurt an amp, would they last long in anyones car? probably not. mounting it on the box is a good idea if you want to keep it all compact.

Got my civic yesterday and have just fitted my soundsystem. I sound deadened the base of the boot and will be puttin a proper install for the sub soon. I decided to screw the amp to the back of the seat as it is the most secure way. I will soon be amping up my front components. Do you recommend speakers in the back aswell? Heres a pic so far:
Bit messy not sure what to do with all the wires without ripping up the back of the seat!!
