My trunk instal

Its pretty sweet. I wanted to put the sub below the floor and have a 12" grill flush mounted with the carpet but I didnt have enough depth:(. But I went to plan b which is ok I guess. The sub is about 2 times more effective and can handle a hell of a lot more power.

The Dayton High Output Subwoofer. The best by far $100 I have ever spent.

RE: My trunk instal

In case you were wondering, I used a lot of screws because this damn sub has killed two pre fab boxes in the past. Ive never had that problem before with a sub destroying a box. I used extra screws to insure that it will take the immense pressure this high excursion sub will make.

Here are the specs: Specifications: *Power handling: 600 watts RMS/1000 watts max *VCdia: 2-1/2" *Le: 1.75 mH *Impedance: 4 ohms *Re: 3.4 ohms *Frequency range: 24 - 600 Hz *Fs: 24 Hz *SPL: 87 dB 2.83 V/1m *Vas: 1.20 cu. ft. *Qms: 4.20 *Qes: .36 *Qts: .33 *Xmax: 12mm *Dimensions: A: 10-1/2", B: 9-1/4", C: 5".

Here is where you can get one: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=295-462

Its got the Remmy approval stamp [sm=smiley20.gif] and when it comes to car audio, im a picky son of a bitch.

not bad. i'm planning on doing something like that soon myself. but with plexiglass on top or do the whole trunk in fiberglass. i know it will be a pain but think of how it will look when done.

are you going to put anything in the rest of the open space?

RE: My trunk instal

No. Its going to stay like that. I wanted to do the mesh grill thing so I would have to worry about the open sub but ill live. I just need to find one of those obnoxious kicker grills now.

Here is a video showing off the sub at work. That distortion is because the camera cant handle the bass it was pumping out so you've got a pretty good idea how good it can be.

:D Nice work Remmy. And the plate frame still looks good... did you know you're the ONLY person who has one? (hint hint, ya slackers)
