New amp and speaker install probs

Ok i just got a set of Infinity Kappa 60.7's components and a 100x2 amp. The install went ok and they sound great except for one problem. When i go to turn the headlights on or use the turn signals the speakers cut out for a split second. First thing i checked was the ground.(for the amp) It seems to be fine the wire is only 3 inches long and i sanded down the area of contact and everythings nice and tight. Is there just a bad spot for a ground? Could i possibly be picking up some noise from my RCA's? RCA's Those are the RCA's im using. Any suggestions are welcome becuase this really pisses me off.

Are you using a capacitor? If not, that's probably your problem. The cap provides extra power when you turn something on.

Im not using a capacitor but im kinda leary on thinking thats the problem becuase its only a 65x2 amp at 4ohms and a 100x2 at 2ohms. Whats a decent cheap capacitor?

You can get an off-brand cap (make sure it's 1 Farad) and they're about half the price of a name brand cap. Probably around $90-$100.

Are you runnin your power wire for the amp directly from the battery like you should?

And I hope you have it fused.

BTW, you could always buy a cap from someplace like Best Buy, and just hook it up temporarily to see if that really is the problem. If the problem still persists, simply return the cap and get your money back.

Yea its definitly fused ive done 4 or 5 amps installs before so i at least know what im doing. Thats a good idea with the best buy capacitor.

Yeh, Best Buy will take almost anything back......just don't ruin the packaging. Then at least you'll know if that is the problem or not. If it is, take the cap back, get your money, then look around for an inexpensive deal on one.

Chances are its a poor ground. Or a really $hitty amp. Id bank on the ground,
