So i need to buy a new deck for my car. I went to the packer game on thursday and when i got home on friday my car was broken into. They took my deck my subs and amp and my ipod. So i need to get a new deck. What brand and deck would you suggest? I have like 500 to spend on the deck. I want a good one.

 

Pioneer has never let me down, same with Panasonic. Also Alpine is really up there, it's more up to you on what controls you want, and the styling. Have you considered getting a DvD deck instead? If i was broken into though I'd REALLY look into a car alarm or a better one at least.

Also sorry about all your **** getting stolen it's never fun.

 

alpine 9887 if u use an ipod its the best deck u can get. if u dont know what everything is... dont get it. its more expensive because it can do so much. if u arent going to use all that stuff dont waste the cash.
as for getting stolen... u should really not show ur stuff off.

 

did you have an alarm in your car? if your looking for just a cd decka dn not a dvd deck then i would just spend about $200 and the rest on a decent alarm system, or i would spend the money on a good setup alarm system and then get a deck afterwards. i currently have a Sony CDX GT-520 but i would get the Sony CDX GT 820ip instead of the one i have. or alpine and pioneer are good decks. sorry to hear about your things being stolen. f ing thieves.

 

well the way it got stolen is i rented a minivan to take to the game. we were tailgating. So my friend drove my car home. I asked him multiple times if he set locked the doors and what not and he said ya, i trusted him. My car does have an alarm a pretty good one at that. The way i have the money is because my friend is giving me 500 for him not locking the doors properly. My stuff was werth like a grand. I don't feel like putting a dvd screen in there. Thats not my style.

 

i'm assuming the thieves got in because the doors weren't lock and they just opened the door and they got all day to rip the stuff out?

i would just invest on maybe $300 deck and spend the rest on a new amps and sub. look into pioneer and alpine

 

I don't think i'm gonna do amp/sub anymore. I'll spend the rest on other stuff.

 

choosing a deck is all about personal preference, find out what you want in a deck and just get it. if you get pioneer, alpine, sony, kenwood, jvc, you know you will get quality, stay away from brands like jensen. since you have a $500 budget then there are tons of choices you can choose from. you can also go to your local car electronic store and have a look around what decks they have that you may like.

 

So this is what im gonna do i gonna put blocker or what not where my deck/cd player used to be and then wire my deck through my glove box.

Anyways, i have a Alpine CDA-9886 I believe the 9887, you can't use cd's.. It's pretty neat and you can upgrade a lot of stuff too. I got my Ipod hooked up.. pretty neat. The controls of the ipod are transferred to the deck itself.. Check here for some pictures..
