so today i got a hold of a used passport x50 blue led display for 140 bucks canadian! its a 400 doller radar detetor and im pretty pumped haha, is htere anything i need to know about it cuz i didnt get a manual with it?

 

and for anyone who has one with the hardwire thing, how do you do that? is it fairly easy?

 

you should enable POP detection since by default, it's off. also, you might want to reconsider your purchase of that detector. i bought that one 2 months ago and returned it 2 weeks later because the newest radar detector was announced. the new one is SO much better. i've only tried my friends, but i can tell you, it owns the passport 8500 x50. the hard wire kit is fairly easy to figure out. i had no trouble with it. you might want to check with your city codes though to see if a radar detector is allowed to be mounted on your windshield.

 

how dyou enable pop mode?

 

you know when you scroll through the different modes and it tells you if its on or off? when you get to pop, you'll see that it says OFF. unlike the other modes where you can trigger on/off by clicking the button on the unit, to enable pop, you have to click the mute button on the power cord; if you did it correctly, POP will now be on.
