Plexi-glass box...
Ok, i just sold my 2 audiobahn 10's and my enclosure in the newspaper (they sucked) and i was looking to get new subs and a new amp. I'm thinking either Eclipse or Kicker on the subs but i was just wondering if it would be at all worth it to get a dual 12" sealed plexi glass box over a regular wooden one. Thanks

RE: Plexi-glass box...
If you wanna see into the box then sure go for it. Personally I see no point to an all plexiglass box.

RE: Plexi-glass box...
i think plexi-glass looks good if you do it on one side, to show off your magnets if there big

RE: Plexi-glass box...
The box is like completley plexi-glass...if you go to GatelyAudio.com thats where the one i want is from.

RE: Plexi-glass box...
if you want to get it, then go for it...as far as i no, it does matter if its made from the mdf or plexy, as long as its the right thickness and bulit right

RE: Plexi-glass box...
It depends how thick the plexiglass is. If it's not thick enough, it'll work like crap.

RE: Plexi-glass box...
plexi is goin to prolly be a lot more $$ and sound the same

[sm=noooo.gif] As one of the audio big dogs of the forum I gotta say thats a bad idea. Plexi is mainly for show. You need a box that will absorb soud, not reflect it. You wont like what a plxi box will produce. My reccommendation for that would be to settle with a plexi glas window thats no more than 35% of the box.

RE: Plexi-glass box...
go to the depot. Get 3/4 inch MDF. MAKE A BOX. It will cost ya 20 bucks.
