Dude ur lucky no fire has broken out.......Youfuse at the battery has to surrport the current following through the amp. What ever the total of those fuses are you should use that for a min on the fuse for the battery.....That way it can handle all (I) thats flowing......

if what your saying is true then i dont know how it went 6-8 months being fine and me never having a problem with it at all....do you think that if the wire isnt big enough to pull all the current that im not getting all from my amps that i could???....i just dont know why it hasnt done the same thing to the 4channel since its on the same power wire.....anyways the 4channel is 4x100 (marc antony) and the monoblock is a 1200x1 at 12v (ED nine.1)

It has nothing to do with the fact that you are pulling to much juice. If you pull to much juice you will blow the MAXI fuse would have popped. which would mean that no power would get to your amp to melt the wire. your amp is getting way to hot and it was touching the metal and it melted it. That the only thing i can see. If it was getting to much juice through it the entire wire would have melted from it but it seems like your fuse didn't pop like it was suppose to it infact melted which isn't suppose to happen. So it could be that you had a faulty fuse. But it ammount of amps you think you are pulling isn't as much as you think. Just because your amp fuses add up to that much doesn't mean it will use that much. If you could look at the rest and let me know then i can try and help you. is your fuse holder melted???

Was that fuse by the battery........Anytime your wires are buring like that by the amp i would normally start with a fuse bythe battery cause it is only there to protect your wires and not your amps.... What gauge is your wiring....And Also ruffly how long is the run of it in Ft?

Im gonna do some calculation and check the scale and see if all wires is good for your amp or if there is better to use....?

NO! do not put a bigger fuse on the 4ga, you'll definitly wreck something or burn something down. the most you should be putting through that wire is 120A, any more, and the wire will melt through the jacket and you'll have a fire, your'e best bet would be to throw another 4ga wire through there, and throw a splice block right before the amp to splice them together.

I have been having trouble with my fuses lately too, they seem to melt before they blow (that is bad, it's what causes fires). so I switched to an alpine fuse and fuse holder, no problems now.
