Default question about power locks and stuff

So my dx does not have power windows / locks and all that jazz..... I am wondering is it possible to get my doors to have power locks so I can have one of those clickers unlock and lock my car?

If I get one of those Viper 791xv security systems would it be able to help me get unlocking and locking doors?

Anyone know have a price range on getting this done? Not on the security system I have already looked into that but price range for getting power locks installed.

I dont know off the top of my head but yes, you can convert it. You need door actuators.

I have an 02 DX, and didn't have power locks or windows and all that jazz either. I found a kit online from Autoloc to get power locks with a keyless entry system (Autoloc CK-2000 for 2 door, CK-4000 for 4 door).. I paid about $78 shipped. It was a bit of a pain to install because in order for it to work (at least the kit I bought) you have to have rod driven locks, and apparently I had cable driven. Didn't know that till I took the door panel off... It would have been a piece of cake if I had rod driven locks... I played around with it for a while, and ended up getting some covered braided steel cable and attached it to the part of the lock that pushes the little black piece up and down and connected it to the actuator and had that mounted vertical so it would push / pull the cable.. It worked great till I stuck my door panel back on and the cable was getting pinched by a piece in the door, so I took an exacto knife and cut that piece of plastic away... Works okay now, but every once in a while it gets caught on that piece of plastic and I have to use my key or try the button a couple of times. All I need to do now is get the relay to hook it up to the lights so they blink when I lock / unlock..

well if you want power doors and windows, i would just look for ex or si doors of the same year. that way you have all the wiring in the door and the just gotta give it juice. then you won't have to install actuators. i got the same alarm ur talking about on my dx and had to install actuators. works well for most times. sometimes the actuators don't wanna work and lock the doors tho. use and abuse the warranty when you get them installed. pay like 100 bucks or so for each door and ur good to go with power locks, windows and mirrors. good luck
