do i need a kit for a HU swap on a 98. Looks to me like it'll fit right in. What do I do about the tape deck that is located on the bottom part of the dash? is there a pocket that is sold to go in its place? I was told that when I swap out the HU my dome light wont work when I open the doors...is this true?

your keyless entry wont work also. you have to connect your new headunit to your factory radio and hide it somewhere.

 

im not too worried about my keyless entry as I will be putting in an alarm on thursday that will do my door locks im more concerned about the dome light

Dome Light Bypass

If you do not have the factory keyless entry, you can bypass the dome light circuit and remove the factory radio from your car. To do this, remove the factory radio from car. On the green plug cut the light green / red wire and the light green / black wire. Join these two wires together on the vehicle side, not the plug side. See if your dome light comes on...it should!
