Here's a couple of pictures of the satellite radio install I did in my 2006 Civic (LX) sedan:
(It's a Sirius "Sporster Replay" satellite radio head unit.)
The satellite radio takes advantage of the optional "aux. input jack" (as installed by the dealer).

The basic installation:

The pic below shows where the the aux. input jack gets installed in the 2006 sedan, and shows the 1/8" stereo plug that feeds the satellite radio's output into the cars stereo system. By the way, Honda's speed-sensitive volume control (SVC) works on this aux. input, too.

Nice work. Why did u mount it so low man? It's dangerous if u keep lookin down there to navigate the radio

I did look at several mounting locations, and the one I used just seemed the best for me. [8D]

Reasons it's mounted down low: One is I did not want the unit to become a "missle" if I got in an accident; another is I wanted it somewhere the passenger could see/use the radio (the base swivels); and I wanted the radio near the aux. input jck, to make the wiring a bit neater, as the misc. wiring pretty much "hides" inside the deep storage bin that the satellite radio is mounted above. (I can still get my hard-sided sunglasses case in and out of the oddly-shaped storage bin that's up in back of the radio head, too.)

And finally, I have the remote control for the satellite radio and I use it--with my eyes on the road--to change the channel up or down among the one's I like best (60's, 70', 80's, the Pulse, and CNN). If I want, I can also rest the base of the palm of my hand on the AT shifter while it's in the 'drive' postion, and use the radio's front-panel dial to change channels (stations?) on the satellite radio pretty easily, too. All in all, it works out fine for me.

While the pics above don't show it, the small satellite-radio remote fits perfectly in the small storage pocket just in back of the AT shifter, too.

Looks great. Very slick and clean. You dont really see the wires as much...
Where did you mount the antenna?

 

The Sirius satellite radio antenna is mounted on the trunk deck lid.
Not permanent yet--still thinking about having it painted to match the car color.
