where in a 6th gen (2000 lx) trunk would be the best spot to self tap a screw for a ground? i was thinking about the shock/strut bolts for a ground but i didnt want to take one of the 3 off without knowing i wont mess anything up. will i be ok doing so?

dont drill a hole, just pull up the carpet a little and in the front theres 2 bolts that go into the floor and hole i think a piece of metal, just unscrew it a little and put the ground wire under

look in my gallery, the 4th pic you will see my trunk with my amp with all the wires going everywere, you can see to the left were i have it grounded

i looked at the pic and just got very confused. too many wires. lol

i had the ground on that bolt untill i went to mess around with it and i broke it. cheap hardware.

the green circle in that one is where i drilled a hole and put a bolt through for my current ground but the amp still gets hot. i dont have a dmm so i cant test for resistance. the red is where it looks the most ground-effiecient? (i guess thats how youd put it) on one of those strut/shock? bolts. but my concern is would i **** something up taking one off.
i havnt had so much trouble grounding amps and other components in my life lol.

Note: pictures taken from addiction2bass' thread. debo! j/k.

i was about to say.... i know that damaged rear. LMFAO

where i had mine previously was on the rear bumper..... thiers two bolts on each side that hold it on.... simply take one bolt out. and be sure to steel wire the area free from all paint!!!!!!! i tneeds a metal to metal contact for a good conection!!!!!
tho now i have my new ground wires done 1/0gauge wires ran directly from the battery to the rear and then with a distrobution block it splits into 4gauge wires to my amplifier, ran up under the car to the rear and comen thru the floor right under the back seat cusion for a good hidden interior look.... BUT i still have yet to build a skid place under the car to block the power wires! right now its just zip tied them up outta the way..... my only concern will be when it snows but ill have that worked out realy soon!

BUT ANYWAYS while your in the mood to DEBO might i HIJACK for a second... LOL how is this vent suposed to be secured? mine is just flopen around and i cannt get it to lock in!

my onlt other idea is to either have to buy a new one... or pull the bumper and seal it in with some hot glue i guess i figured out where most my rattling was comen from!

yeh i think your talkin about the bolt in the first debo'ed pic in the green circle....i broke that one. and the way the amps are positioned with the rcas ran one side and power the other i cant get to the other bolt. i wouldnt trust its strength either lol. i barely tighened it and it broke, not my idea of a healthy ground. i just swapped amps and put it on the spot in the 2nd pic and tighened the bolt like a ****. man i need a DMM blah. if all else fails ill run it to the batt. there is NO problems with doing so right?

what vent you talking about?
i see your trunk latch cover has all the clips still....nice! lol. i need to order some , i broke most of hers.

thats exactialy what im talken about!!!!!!
those two bolts in MILLs picture!
those two bolts hold on the bumper suport. definatly wont break i had mine cranked down real good! but like i said just scrap off the paint so its bare metal and it should be a great contact point... just spray it with some either WD40 or alittle primer once its all cranked down tight to keep it from rusten thru in the future.

Hey addiction: Remove that piece of rubber and replace it with a piece of mesh screen. Keeps pests out of your trunk and still allows for air pressure equalization(which is why its there, and to allow air flow) Most likely that piece of rubber is one of your rattles(you'll always find another once youhave the "last one" found!!!)
