I did a search for this and came up with nothing ... But i'm planning to get some 6.5s are they gonna fit perfect cuz i hate messing around with crap like that i hate cutting and whatever but Do they fit right in place and just screw?? Cuz in my camaro it said that my speakers were 6.5 and i got 6.5 but the stock speakers were oversized 6.5s how dumb ?!?! right ?

 

if you don't want to cut or anything, you'll need 6-1/2" shallow mount speakers.... if you don't mind cutting, any 6-1/2" speaker will fit

 

Where can i get these shallow mount speakers??

 

you'll have to check the speaker's top mounting depth, but i believe it needs to be less than 1-5/8" to fit without cutting out the back of the bracket


really with a dremel, it should take you less than 5 minutes to cut out the bracket behind the speaker mount...

 

i'll probably end up just doing that i don't want to but i will lol thanx i need to buy a dremel ..!!! lol

 

You could probably make an MDF baffle and bring them out a little too, without interfering with a factory fit. Take a good look at it before you buy the speakers.

 

MDF Baffle??

 

MDF is a type of wood usually 3/4" thick. Make a bracket/baffle so the speaker sits on top of the MDF. The MDF will bring the speaker farther out make it fit.
Regularly it would be just the metal on the door then speaker.
With the baffle it would be, metal on the door, homemade bracket, then the speaker.
It just gives you an extra 3/4" clearance.
It's not hard to make.

 

MDF Baffle should be used in ANY speaker install. Increased mid-bass response.

 

oh word they don't make em i'd have to make it ?? i mean its no problem it would just be nice to save some time lol seeing how i don't have the right tools to cut wood
