stereo rewire
just got a 93 civic LX and i am putting in a new head unit and all 4 speakers (door speakers were missing and rear deck was blown). The person that installed the prevouse unit did a hack job on it and i am having to rewire most of it. Im just running into one issue.
What is the best way to run new speaker wire from the head unit to the door speakers? the in place wiring is measuring 30ohms of resistance between the head unit harness and the terminals at the door.

ouch thats pretty bad resistance on speaker wire they must be pretty badly corroded for that kind of resistance. Anyhow best bet is to remove the door skins then run the wire through the factory molex connections, there should be room to run speaker wires in there its a bit of a pain removing the rubber but once its off you can run the new wires pretty easy.

actually, turns out i dont have to rewire. Found a splice the last person did that was bad (twisted and electrical tape) replaced it with a crimp on but connector (i think its what that are called... the little tubes you put the wire in and crimp the 2 together). The restance dropped to .4ohms... not i just have to find my drill to drill new mount holes for the door speakers.

Well at least you found the problem,I wire stereos and car audio professionally on the side of my day job and I like to solder and shrink tube all connections I hate butt connectors since from my experience they tend to cause more problems down the road, especially when they are done exterior of the vehicle. But if it works for you thats cool. I can not remember how many times I have had to fix things like this over the years wiring is one thing you want done right the first time.
