RE: Subs/Amp

MTX makes awesome amps but expect to pay a lot for them. Same thing goes with Infinity. My advice... you get what you pay for. Spend the money on a good amp.
Now...
If you wire + to + and - to - the sub will run at 2 Ohms
If you wire + to - and + to - the sub will run at 8 Ohms

Make damn sure the amp you buy can work at 2 Ohms or you'll blow it. Hope this helps.

RE: Subs/Amp

wire them in series and get a 2 ohm stable class D amp. That will hit hard. This way when u run them in series ull get a 2 ohm load, and the amp will be doing all it possibly can.

or read...

He is getting two DVC 4ohm subs, so he needs a 1ohm stable amp. My suggestions are Hifonics Titan 1605, Orion 1200d, DEI 1100d,Kicker 1200.1

RE: Subs/Amp

there the new ones.. sorry there 500 watts RMS and 1000 Peak. Wow those amps are expensive. So is there any cheaper way to do it or should i jus look into different subs with less RMS cuz more watts=needs better amp. Thanks

RE: Subs/Amp

Alright last ?... If i get the two Alpine 12" type r subs which put out 500 RMS each so 1000 total rms and 3000 peak. i can wire them in series to run 1ohm with a brutus bx1000d which put out 1000 watts RMS @ 1 ohm. Would that system be a good set up? Thanks again. Sorry 4 all the ?'s.

RE: Subs/Amp

u go + t= + and - to - and you will rn at 4..

3 words for you....Alpine,apline, apline.. if u have alpine deck,v- amp and alpine subs..u will have a system then knows each other...

if you want something different still..then go with PG, or Directed..both make very good amps.

dont go MTX

RE: Subs/Amp

Heres a diagram off of a quick-start guide from my infinity amp. It shows that + to + will run at 2 ohms.
