Default using the fuse box

could someone please write up a brief (or in depth if you have the time) tutorial on how to add something to the fusebox?
i understand which fuse to use and where the blank spots are in the fuse box. my only issue is how to get the wire that needs power connected to that fuse, and also once thats done, will power need to be supplised to the fuse or does the fuse box already have power?

thank you so much

well check the fuse box..... you want to tap into the extra outputs... look for male spade terminals...

use a simple light tester to check for power and when they have power with the key...
on my 99ex i had i think 3 spades.... extra ones....
one had power all the time..
second only had power with the ignition ON...

depending on when you want the new wire to have power....
basicaly just buy a inline fuse piece... and on one side of the fuse conect a female spade terminal and simply plug it into the fuse box and then wire the other side of the fuse to what ever your adding...

but if your gonna run anything somewhat powerfull then id advice to run a wire right off your battery. and like always USE I FUSE as close to the power source as you can!

and id say if your gonna add alot of other toys then id say buy some 8gauge wire and of course inline fuse, AGU fuses are preaty standard for that size wire, and a distrobution block and wire it up under your dash from the battery... then just use the distro block to connect all your other wires to it...

and if you want to still power them ONLY with the ignition on you can... just have to use a relay after the distro block.... preaty easy to work.

ya electrical work realy isnt that hard as most people try making it... a few things ya just gota understand is first of all FUSE EVERYTHING no more than 6inches away from the power source...

another thing is just find a good ground... usualy you can find a good metal brace that already has a bolt on it... then just take the nut/bolt off and crimp a ring terminal on the wire and then tighten the nut/bolt back down. on my 99civic i used the inside fuse block mount nut, tho i just wraped mine around the screw cause i was outta ring terminals to fit it.LOL it just looks purtier witha ring terminal works non the less that way...

and if your adding realy low power stuff id just slap it inline with something else.... like if your doing those led washer pieces... ive wired them into the parking lights before... even wired them in thru the ignition before. they dont draw much power so it never hurt the other electricals. but either way when ever ya go thru a firewall to its best to fuse it and go thru a grommet... ya dont wanna chance it geting pinched or rubbing a hole in the wire and causing a direct short.... but as long as the wire is fused properly the fuse would blow which would leave no negative effects on your vehicle... then ya just find the problem and fix it and pop in a new same size fuse.

not trying to make it sound difficult.LOL its realy quite easy....

http://www.sounddomain.com/ride/217017/4
LMFAO
page 2 was my best instal probably to this day.... (cause im to lazy to build one for my civic yet. )
THIS THING DIDNT EVEN HAVE hood washers. LMFAO i stuck them on the back of the hood with some double sided tape.LOL

only reason i havent deleted that SD page is cause it shows how foolish i was when i started....
didnt show my 1st car i ever customized cause i didnt do that much and never had a camera to upload pics.LOL tho im taking that 66impala back to classic looks.... ill start back on it next year. fixing what foolishness i thought was cool and what sounded good back in the day!
