where does the CD go?

Default where does the CD go?

well on my stock 98 honda civic ex, the stereo has a button that says CD. but no slot for a CD to go in.

is this a dead button?

is something missing?

can someone explain this to me, thanks!!!

You need to have a CD changer connected to it! I had one mounted in the trunk of my 97 EX coupe, but did away with it when the factory radio started acting up.

From 96-98, the civic factory radios did not have the cd player built in to the main head unit. I was not a standard feature, so only some of them came with a cd player. It was located in one of two places:

1) a single disc reader that was in place of the pocket in front of the cupholders or
2) a multi disc changer mounted in the trunk of the vehicle.

both are very obvious if you have them. they are not hidden in any way. If you have them there, then thats where the cd goes. If not, then your car did not have the cd player and you will need to change out the radio if you would like a cd player.

thats kinda what i figured.
can i just get a changer and add it to what i currently have?
if i need a different head unit, can some one point me to a stock unit that would work?
i want to get a keyless remote, so i need a stock head unit.
thanks guys
