would this work?

honestly i like the way my stock radio/ cd looks in my dash. so what i was thinking is to amplify the front speakers (witch will be aftermarket) with 300w and the rear with 205w. would this give me a good enough sound without having to ditch my stock head?

No. partially because your stock H/U may not have pre-outs, and if it does they will be very low voltage(other reason), you should look into getting a H/U with at least 2.5V pre-outs. It really will make a BIG difference, also some stock H/U's don't accept RCA's.

go aftermarkit, you can find really really sweet decks out there and theres everything there to hook up your system, makes things alot easer and will sound alot better

i was looking into doing the same thing but you have to buy all these adaptors to hook the amp in since the stock one doesnt have RCA outputs. youd be better off money and sound wise to get a new head unit

There is only one adapter you have to buy to make this work, and honestly, unless you are entering competitions or something, your stock deck will be fine. Not everything in the universe just HAS to be changed out to aftermarket.

The best option would be to find a pre-amp that accepts high level (speaker) inputs.

if it was me I would get a 4ch amp with high level inputs or if you cant find one you like with high level imputs get one with RCA imputs and a highlevel to pre-amp converter.

I'm with street sniper. an adapter will do the trick, without the need for a new head unit.

high quality speakers always matter more than an expensive aftermarket head unit.

and don't go for any sony or pioneer speakers either. lol.

go for the expensive stuff, like JL Audio, Boston Acoustics, Memphis Audio, Polk, etc. because you want great sound, not just slightly better than OEM...
