I just got my new CF hood put on last week and I wanted to know how to keep it looking nice and not get all faded like you see alot. I wash and wax my car every two weeks or more depending on how dirty it is. Is there a certain wax I should or shouldn't use, do I wash it like the rest of my car, and I've heard that the sun will fade it, what should I watch out for there.

 

FIRST OFF YOU'RE DOING A GOOD JOB KEEPING IT CLEAN AND WAXED! DON'T LEAVE YOUR CAR PARKED OUT IN THE SUN FOR TOO LONG. THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO IS KEEP THE CAR COVERED ON HOT SUNNY DAYS AND PARK IN THE SHADE IF YOU CAN!

 

just wash and wax, then rub once a month...

 

Sorry but what do you mean by rub. Also thanks for the tips, my car parks in the garage and most of my work is at night so it's not in the sun all day. Would it be over protective to cover my hood with a tarp or somthing if I was to park it all day somewhere.


*EDIT Ah I guess purple562civic meant that when he said keep it covered on sunny days.

 

You have a decent hood not a Ebay brand hood you'll be fine. Detail / clay bar once a month clay 1-3 months.

Use quick detail every other week on the hood, keep it clean don't let sun spots dry to hard and hard on it.
