Is it cheaper to fix bent fender or replace it?

I got into a little accident where my left driver side wheel came off while I was doing 80km. Basically I damaged the fender and broke a piece of the bumper that attaches to the fender.

Is it cheaper to fix the fender or replace it? The side of the car is shaved so I don't have that plastic strip along the side. From what I know, the fender has a little piece of this strip. So if I were to replace it, that would mean I have to fill it back in.

Can anyone tell me what's the best solution to get this fixed?
What would I have to do to the bumper to re attach it to the fender, as the plastic thing that helps hold it broke off?
Also how much is the body work going to cost me?

Also I can post up pictures if need be.

Sorry guys for not being able to upload right away. Anyway, here are the pictures of the damage of the left driver side fender. There are damages in the bottom and top portion. Also the plastic that attaches the bumper to the body/fender broke off. As you can see, the side of the car is shaved.

Post pictures. Let's see how bad it is and we can advise you further.

does it looks very unrepairable, our fenders are too flimsy anyhow.. once the front end is in a mild collision such as your fender, that's pretty much it.. i'd suggest getting a new fender as soon as you can coz if you repair it

coz if you repair it what?

there is no danger that could happen from repairing a fender... +1 on needing pics thats the only way we could give you an estimate on the cost of repair vs cost of replacement.

take it to a body shop damage like that is difficult to fix on your own

What would I have to do to the bumper to re attach it to the fender, as the plastic thing that helps hold it broke off?
My bumper is only being held on by one side and the two bolts on the bottom. you should have no problem but if it does begin to sag you could try somehow jerry rigging up something with paper clips lol. once again would have to see the damage.

Also how much is the body work going to cost me?
need pix

and may i ask how the hell your wheel fell off?

dang thats way to much $$.LOL

thats where i bought my new parts from. the radiator support and the bumper impact bar are definatly thinner metal BUT its not a huge issue because no one should plan on hiting anything.LOL
but the fenders and hood and bumper cover all looked great! fit perfect and built well.

it doesnt look that bad, i dont see why you couldnt just do the body work yourself, cuz i dont see anything that major so it should be fairly inexpensive
