painting calipers and rims

Default painting calipers and rims

What is recommended for doing this? Hopefully starting tomorrow weather permitting

A lot of time and a lot of patience. You will have to sand the old paint off your rims, and probably wire brush and sand your calipers (it all depends on how rusty they are).

def. wire brush and sand the calipers smooth. you will see great results.

I Did my calipers a few weeks ago, not hard at all. I just used brake cleaner on the calipers, waited a couple minutes, then wire brushed. Did that about 5-8 times. Mine were pretty rusty tho and crumbly, you might want a mask for your mouth when you do this. Then what I did was tape off the rotor and any other stuff around the area then painted. light coats, with atleast 5 min in between each coat.

Yeah I did it with the duplicolor blue paint from autozone and it turned out really well. Ill try and post a pic but it never works when I try, and they turned out darker than the pic. But its really nice and wasnt hard at all. I decided to do the drums too cause I had extra paint.

Yeah the pics make it look alright, but when it dried darker it looks alot better thats just after putting the paint on. Ill put up more pics when I get my car back form being painted
