Removing brown spots on the paint...

1 Attachment(s)
I park my car outside so I get all sorts of gunk on the paint. Of course, the hood, top and trunk (top portion) have lost pretty much all of the clear coat so it's much harder to remove stains now. The sides of the car are still fairly smooth and has enough clear coat to protect the paint.

Anyways, here is a picture of the stuff that's staining the car. It looks like a water stain but brown. I suspect it's from the trees... possibly bug crap (literally). I was able to rub it off from the side of the car but the hood/trunk/etc. is not working too well. I don't want to waste a whole day trying to make a dent in clearing it off.

Can anyone recommend some strong cleaners that would work on this?

Is there also a DIY clear coat type treatment?

A clay bar will remove these spots that I can rub/brush out? Well, I'll give it a try.

Does anyone know what this is? I removed it successfully using a clear coat cleaner from Meguiar's. After a couple of weeks, they're back... in different places... but mostly on the hood, roof, trunk... they seem to be a result of water drops but I'm not sure where the brown stain is coming from? Perhaps something in the dust.... I don't get it. They are not easy to remove by just washing the car. I have to use a toothbrush and scrub it like 20 times to get it off.... the clear coat cleaner works much better for this.
