I was going to repaint my rear bumper and i had a couple of questions first. (its R89 milano red)
Will a pint be enough?
Will i need to primer my bumper, or just wet sand it because it is a repaint?
Will Urethane paint be fine?
How long should I wait until clearcoating?
How many coats of clear?

Will i need to primer my bumper, or just wet sand it because it is a repaint? Sand. Primer. Sand will look a little better than just a wet sand. :-)
Will Urethane paint be fine? Yes
How long should I wait until clearcoating? Do it while the paint is still wet.
How many coats of clear? as many as you want. 2 maybe 3. too many and you risk cracks and chips. but the more you put on the deeper it looks.

 

Thanks V8DIET, thats what i thought about clearcoating, but this one site said to just do it within a week, so I was just questioning.

 

lol, well I guess you could wait as long as you want to, :-) but it's way eaisier to do it while you have all your painting stuff out and you only have to set up and clean everything once. it's a lot less work.

 

what is the best type of sand paper to use?

 

for wet sanding or for taking down paint/primer?
