2005 honda civic si engine limiter
ORIGINAL: ngoti8tor
I'd like to find out more about this info because I'm looking at purchasing an Si. A salesman at Honda told me that the 2001 and up Si model only has 135HP. I see info about the older Si models being 160HP. Now I'm getting conflicting info. Can someone please help me out with more info on the Si HP ratings?

Yes, I'm from Canada.
The information that I found out from the salesman is as follows:
1999-2000 Si = 160HP
2001-2005 SiG = 135HP
2001-2005 SiR = 160HP
I can't afford a newer SiR so I wa looking at purchasing a 2000 Si if this info is correct. Unfortunately, I can't find out much info on the HP ratings of the 2001 and newer models they have here in Canada which are the SiG and SiR models.
Thanks

no, in canada, the SI is the same as our EX, its got around 127 horses. you need to get the 99-00 SIR. and that 135 sounds a bit optomistic, but im not sure what engine the SI-G has.
and the limiter is built into the ecu.
