88 Honda crx si Fuel injectors not fireing no ECU CEL light
OK so i just obtained a 1988 crx SI with a JDM b16A swap. i got the car in a trade and i figured i could fix the car fairly simple like i usually do. well i noticed that when i tried to start the car the fuel pump would not prime or come on at all. so the first thing i did was put a new main relay in the car. did not work. i went over all the wiring under the dash from what i could see i did not see any burnt wires at all nor did i smell anything. so then i just wired the fuel pump to a switch for now to get it to pump fuel that did not help. i am getting fuel to the rail but the injectors are not firing. i know that I am getting spark just not fuel i sprayed starter fluid in the throttle body car try's to start but of course it does not run. i have also tried 4 different ecu's they all do the same thing. the boy that had it said the ecu fuse kept popping so i changed the ecu fuse and it has not popped on me but it also still will not start. could the fuse box itself have an issue i need some help with this its driving me nuts i just want to get this thing running any help will be appreciated thanks.
off hand as im not crazy familiar with engine swaps in civics besides its really popular and every engine imaginable has been done. the first thing that keeps coming to mind are your 2 statments about it being a swap and the ecu fuse. previous owner could have been blowing ecu fuses because the main harness somewhere was damaged during the swap. now your not blowing fuses could mean the damaged section has completely broken. back to the swap concern. was the engine running at all after the previous owner completed the swap or has it never ran. possibility there that the swap wasn't done correctly electrically. you could also just have a bad ignition switch too at this point. most ignition switches have 2 or 3 main trigger wires that come off the switch. a starter trigger fuel pump trigger and ecu trigger.
The swap is very clean every thing was done nice and tight the distributor is new and the car made a trip all the way from missisipi to northcarolina ran good for 4 months and now its popping the ecu fuse Also i would like to also say that the car cranked for me yesterday for about 45 seconds then popped the fuse again while it was running it ran great no miss no knocks or valve noise sounded like a sowing machine. then just completly died.
PROBLEM SOLVED!!!! so the way i figured it out is not really the safest way to figure it out what i did i replaced the 15 with a 30 amp fuse. i let it get warm then i pulled the power off battery using a scrap ecu just incase it blew my ecu. then i felt all the wires coming from the ecu pins i grabbed the peach colored wire and i followed it through out the harness through the fire wall and under the car THEN BAM i noticed the wires for the O2 Sensor were wedged in between the exhaust and melted together now my cars running after i taped up wires and cleaned up everything im so happy i did a break dance in my front yard thanks for the help but i managed to jimmy my way to the fix later fellers!!!
